A BRIEF HISTORY OF KOOL VIEW

Kool View is Madison's oldest window insulation company. In 1973 we started with one product: a glass coating liquid that cut solar heat gain through glass. Only one month into our new business, the Arab Oil Embargo swept the newspaper headlines. It shocked us into a new awareness of our fragile energy resources and put greater emphasis on the role of window energy use. Since that time Kool View has expanded its awareness with new products and research. In 1979 we were awarded a U. S. Department of Energy grant to study the "honeycomb" concept of window insulation. In 1982 we were granted a patent on our very own "Seal-A-Shade" product. Also in 1982, we expanded into Solar Rooms and Greenhouses, becoming one of the first Four Seasons franchises in the country. Four Seasons is the largest manufacturer of Sunrooms in the world! Today we are the biggest builder of Sunrooms in Wisconsin, having put up over 2,000 Sunrooms in south-central Wisconsin.
